Writers LIVE! Theresa Runstedtler

Time & Location
Mar 22, 2023, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Lexington Market, Baltimore, MD 21201, USA
About the Event
African American history professor Theresa Runstedtler will provide a history of the National Basketball Association in the 1970s. That era of professional basketball was personified by an influx of Black players that changed how the game was played and challenged team ownership to procure higher pay and greater influence. Their efforts paved the way for future players and were integral to the NBA’s meteoric growth.
Theresa Runstedtler is an African American history professor at American University. She is the author of Jack Johnson, Rebel Sojourner: Boxing in the Shadow of the Global Color Line.
