Shades of Melanin Sneaker Literacy Fundraiser Gala  

Join us on April 11th, 2026 for a one-of-a-kind celebration of culture, community, and literacy.

Hosted by Urban Reads Foundation, powered by Urban Reads Bookstore, this gala blends sneaker culture with a bold literacy mission raising funds to expand free libraries, prison literacy programs, youth reading incentives, and the Black Star Line Literacy Bus.

Held at The Garage (6 E Lafayette St, Baltimore) from 5 PM to 9 PM, the evening features music by DJ Twizz, an auction and an evening full of surprises.

The theme is Shades of Melanin, and the dress code is MELANIN COLOR ATTIRE AND MELANIN SNEAKERS ONLY.
