The Kenan Amori Book Fund Launch
A Black August Assembly of Study, Memory + Liberation
In collaboration with African Diaspora Alliance and Urban Reads Foundation, this Black August gathering will launch the Kenan Amori Book Fund, honoring the life and legacy of New Generation Scholar Malcolm Kenan Amori Alexander.
The gathering will include a screening excerpt from the George Jackson Tribute film, Video Mixtape by Bashi Rose and Jared Ball, alongside a musical performance by K. Amori. We will also gather in study, memory, and conversation around the importance of books, knowledge, and access.
FREE BOOKS will be distributed to youth ages 14–24 as part of the launch and the ongoing vision of the Kenan Amori Book Fund: expanding access to books and cultivating spaces for study, imagination, and liberation.
