About the Event
Darrin Bell wanted a water gun when he was 6 years old. His mother had to tell him why she feared for his safety if she allowed it. The Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist will reflect on how The Talk impacted his life and how discriminatory policing continues to hurt Black children.
Darrin Bell is an editorial cartoonist and creator of the comic strips Candorville and Rudy Park. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his work, including the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning, as well as the Berryman Award and RFK Award for Editorial Cartooning.
