About the Event
Historian Blair Kelley will provide a history of America's Black working class over the past 200 years. The author profiles generations of her family as she explores the impact of the Black labor movement on America’s political and social landscape.
Blair Kelley is the director of the University of North Carolina’s Center for the Study of the American South and co-director of the University’s Southern Futures Initiative. She is the author of Right to Ride: Streetcar Boycotts and African American Citizenship in the Era of Plessy v. Ferguson.
