This page explains what information this website handles when you browse the shop and when you place an order.

What we collect when you order

Checkout is handled by Stripe, a payment service. At checkout you enter your name, your email address and your shipping address. Stripe may also ask for a phone number.

You enter your card details on Stripe's page. This website does not receive or keep your card number.

What we keep

When your order is placed, we save an order record in our database. It includes:

• your email address;
• your shipping name and address, and your phone number if Stripe collected one;
• what you ordered, and the amounts for the items, shipping and tax;
• the status of the order, for example paid or shipped.

We use it to pack and ship your order and to answer questions about it. [How long we keep order records: to be decided]

Your cart

The items in your cart are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device, so they are still there when you come back. The cart is sent to us only when you start checkout. You can clear it by removing the items or by clearing your browser's site data.

Tracking

We do not use advertising trackers on this website, and the site does not include analytics scripts. [Confirm before launch: whether any usage statistics or logs are turned on in the hosting settings]

Services that handle your data

• Stripe handles payments and collects your checkout details.
• Supabase hosts our database, which holds the book catalog and the order records.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Google Fonts supplies the fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them when a page loads, and Google can see your IP address.
• Book cover images load from an image host, which can also see your IP address when your browser asks for them.

Each of these has its own privacy policy.
