About the Event
Law professor and attorney Kristin Henning will explore the relationship between the police and Black children. Through her 25 years of experience representing Black youth in Washington, DC’s juvenile courts, the author argues that the relationship is fraught with discriminatory policing. The result is generations of Black children that are constantly under surveillance and unjustly criminalized.
Kristin Henning is a law professor and director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic and Initiative at the Georgetown University Law Center. She is a former lead attorney of the Juvenile Unit at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
